One special note is that the urban parkas "under" ratio, 2.5, is actually pretty good (its about the same as the other coats are worth on top!) and it doesnt weigh too much, making it a worthwhile under layer. The ratio of 3/kg is not as good as the Urban Parka's potential 4.5kg, but its still pretty good and it has the advantage of being in total 1.5 degrees warmer. Since youre in Stalker, and likely to be bitten by a wolf or two, I think I'd wear the Military Coat. It's totally garbage as an undercoat but makes a great overcoat. The military coat has the same warmth ratio as the old fashioned parka, but has a fantastic protection rating. The Old Fashioned Parka is just the worst in basically all regards compared to the other two and only potentially worth wearing when you need to maximize warmth with no regard to weight at all. If you want to pack light, wear just the urban parka.

The Urban Parka has the best warmth efficiency ratio of them all, clearly.

Urban Parka: 4.5/kg top (2.5/kg under.) 2 prot / kg, 1kg total I do not consider run penalty or water resistance to be anything worth considering.Īnyway, Lets have a look at the efficiencies of each coat. Anyway, you dont only want the most efficient cloth, but also generally the heaviest most efficient cloth, since it will provide the most of its benefit. though i suppose the warmth is all that matters when you're actually taking shelter. I'll also wear lightweight Warm-But-Bad-Wind Protection clothes underneath sometimes as well, if I happen to have any candidates. Also, wind protection imo is basically as good as warmth given that its usually more windy that you have prot anyway. (If you loot clothing while exploring, youll also be able to pop it on for reduced weight and +warmth until you bring it back home.) Indeed it also seems that the lower coat doesnt provide Protection, I believe, making it even less valuable. Try making a full outfit with only 1 item in each spot and compare the total warmth and weight with whatever your normal outfit is, you might be surprised how close in warmth you are while getting to save a good amount of lbs. In all honesty, I tend to math out the most efficient Weight/Warmth item and wear only that, and dont tend to double layer. Something to keep in mind is that only the exterior coat's wind protection applies, making the second coat a lot less efficient.
